But there are unique issues that prevent SMBs from just buying what large enterprises purchase.?

Endpoint, messaging, network, Web, identity and access management (IAM), and security and vulnerability management (SVM) are the six most important security product areas, the report said. IDC predicted that these markets would exhibit strong growth through 2015, and that SMB spending on software as a service (SaaS) and security appliances will grow at double-digit rates in the coming years, offering new opportunities for technology suppliers.

IDC also noted in the report that an effective Website, education, dedicated products, appliances, SaaS and channel support were six critical areas for supplier success in the SMB space, but also pointed out that it was unlikely for a supplier to dominate all six areas of the market, though some may have the expertise to stand out in three or four specific areas. SMBs in general have a keen eye toward IT security investment, with just under a fifth of survey respondents with less than 100 employees citing security management and improvement as a top priority. Among midsize firms (100 to 999 employees), 36 percent of respondents felt the same way, according to the report.

?SMBs are more focused on security as a way to gain access to more capabilities, but less focused on security as a cost to be reduced once minimum standards are met,? Romney to clinch GOP nomination with Texas win

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Mitt Romney is set to clinch the Republican presidential nomination Tuesday night with a win in the Texas primary, a triumph of endurance for a candidate who came up short four years ago and had to fight hard this year as voters flirted with a carousel of GOP rivals.

According to the Associated Press count, Romney was sure to pass the 1,144 delegates needed to win the nomination on Tuesday unless he flopped badly in the Texas contest, an unlikely scenario with no one else campaigning.

The former Massachusetts governor has reached the nomination milestone with a steady message of concern about the U.S. economy, a campaign organization that dwarfed those of his GOP foes and a fundraising operation second only to that of his Democratic opponent in the general election, President Barack Obama.

"That goal is accomplished, but there's a much bigger goal to be accomplished and that's winning the presidency," said Rich Beeson, Romney's political director. "So while you can take a certain amount of satisfaction and pride for (Romney) and what he's accomplished, he's very resolved to say, 'Our work isn't done.'"

Romney must now fire up conservatives who still doubt him while persuading swing voters that he can do a better job fixing the nation's struggling economy than Obama. In Obama, he will face a well-funded candidate with a proven campaign team in an election that will be heavily influenced by the economy.

"It's these economic indicators that will more or less trump any good or bad that Romney potentially got out of primary season," said Josh Putnam, an assistant political science professor at Davidson College who writes the political blog Frontloading HQ.

Romney opened his day in Colorado's coal country, where he spoke directly to small town America: "I'm not going to forget Craig, Colorado. I'm not going to forget communities like this across the country that are hurting right now under this president," he said. Local officials report that the area's economy is improving, but Romney said the recovery is too slow.

The Colorado event was the first stop in a Tuesday swing that ends at a Las Vegas fundraiser with Donald Trump, who has been renewing discredited suggestions that Obama wasn't born in the United States. The Obama campaign released a video Tuesday criticizing Romney's unwillingness to stand up to Trump and the more extreme elements in his party. Romney says he believes Obama was born in America but has yet to condemn Trump's repeated insinuations to the contrary.

"Mitt Romney's continued embrace of Donald Trump and refusal to condemn his disgraceful conspiracy theories demonstrates his complete lack of moral leadership," Obama's deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, said in a statement. "If Mitt Romney lacks the backbone to stand up to a charlatan like Donald Trump because he's so concerned about lining his campaign's pockets, what does that say about the kind of president he would be?"

Asked Monday about Trump's contentions, Romney said, "I don't agree with all the people who support me. And my guess is they don't all agree with everything I believe in." He added, "But I need to get 50.1 percent or more. And I'm appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people."

Republicans won't officially nominate Romney until late August at the GOP national convention in Tampa, Fla. He enters the Texas primary with 1,086 convention delegates ? 58 shy of the 1,144 needed to win the nomination.

Texas has 152 delegates at stake and they are awarded in proportion to the statewide vote. That means Romney has to get at least 38 percent of the vote there to go over the top. In recent primaries in Kentucky, Arkansas, Nebraska and Oregon, he has done no worse than 67 percent.

Texas Republicans also will vote in a Senate primary to choose a candidate to run for the seat being vacated by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst is facing state Solicitor General Ted Cruz and Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert. If no one gets more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two finishers will go to a runoff in July. The nominee will be strongly favored to win in November in heavily Republican Texas.

Romney, 65, is clinching the presidential nomination later in the calendar than any recent Republican candidate ? but not quite as late as Obama in 2008. Obama clinched the Democratic nomination on June 3, 2008, at the end of an epic primary battle with Hillary Rodham Clinton. Four years ago, John McCain reached the threshold on March 4, after Romney had dropped out of the race about a month earlier.

This year's primary fight was extended by a back-loaded primary calendar, new GOP rules that generally awarded fewer delegates for winning a state and a Republican electorate that built up several other candidates before settling on Romney.

Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Trump ? all of them sat atop the Republican field at some point. But Romney outlasted them all, even as some GOP voters and tea party backers questioned his conservative credentials.

The primary race started in January with Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator, narrowly edging Romney in the Iowa caucuses. Romney rebounded with a big win in New Hampshire before Gingrich, the former House speaker, won South Carolina.

Romney responded with a barrage of negative ads against Gingrich in Florida and got a much-needed 14-point win. Romney's opponents fought back: Gingrich called him a liar, and Santorum said Romney was "the worst Republican in the country" to run against Obama.

Gingrich and Santorum assailed Romney's work at Bain Capital, the private equity firm he co-founded, saying the firm sometimes made millions at the expense of workers and jobs. It is a line of attack that Obama has promised to carry all the way to November.

On Feb. 7 Santorum swept all three contests in Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota, raising questions about Romney's status as the front-runner. After a 17-day break in the voting, Romney responded with wins in Arizona, Michigan and Washington state before essentially locking up the nomination on March 6, this year's version of Super Tuesday.

Romney has been in general-election mode for weeks, raising money and focusing on Obama, largely ignoring the primaries since his competitors dropped out or stopped campaigning. Santorum suspended his campaign April 10, and Gingrich left the race a few weeks later.

Both initially offered tepid endorsements of Romney, but on Sunday Gingrich gave a full-throated defense of Romney's campaign, saying on NBC's "Meet the Press" that he was "totally committed to Romney's election."

Texas Rep. Ron Paul said on May 14 he would no longer compete in primaries, though his supporters are still working to gain national delegates at state conventions.

Rich Galen, a Republican strategist who has been unaligned in the 2012 race, said the long, sometimes nasty primary fight should help Romney fine-tune his campaign organization so it can operate effectively in the general election. Galen doesn't, however, think it was relevant in toughening up Romney for the battle against Obama.

"Romney's been running for president for six years. He is as good a candidate as he's ever going to be," Galen said. "Whatever you say about him, he was better than everybody else in the race."

Egyptians torch Shafiq headquarters as vote triggers violence

CAIRO (Reuters) - An arson attack on the headquarters of one of the two candidates in Egypt's presidential election has marred campaigning for the second round in a vote that has polarized the nation with the choice of an Islamist or Hosni Mubarak's last prime minister.

Protesters set fire to storage rooms and smashed computers late on Monday at the campaign headquarters of Ahmed Shafiq, a 70-year-old former air force chief and Mubarak official, who was confirmed as a run-off candidate after the first round vote.

His rival is Mohamed Mursi, a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's main Islamist group which controls the biggest bloc in parliament after an earlier election. The deciding presidential vote is on June 16 and 17.

Mursi, 60, drew support from a disciplined group of backers of the Brotherhood, banned under Mubarak, and Shafiq attracted Egyptians who want a strongman to restore law, order and prosperity after 15 months of turmoil since Mubarak's ouster.

Neither won more than a quarter of votes cast in the first round, leaving an agonizing choice for a sizeable portion of the electorate who backed more centrist candidates and do not want a conservative Islamist or an ex-military officer at the helm.

Thousands of Egyptians took to the streets on Monday night in protest after the results of the first round were confirmed by the election committee. Some held up posters of Mursi with a cross over his face. But most were chanting against Shafiq.

Dozens then marched from the protests around Tahrir Square, where hundreds of thousands played out a drama that toppled Mubarak, to Shafiq's headquarters in the upscale Cairo district of Dokki.

"They seemed to know what they were after and they went directly to the storage rooms and set them on fire using petrol bombs," said Ahmed Abdel Ghani, 30, a member of Shafiq's campaign, surveying a scene of unusable, charred campaign flyers and leaflets scattered on the ground.

The main villa escaped the flames but protesters smashed laptops and computers inside, he said. Daubed on the wall outside the villa were the words: "No to Shafiq, no to feloul," an Arabic word referring to "remnants" of Mubarak's era.

Shafiq has made no secret of his admiration for Mubarak, describing him as a role model after his own father. Protesters threw stones and shoes at him when he voted in Cairo last week.

"We condemn the attack but we still don't know who is behind it and will wait for investigations. But we are continuing our work and path and hopefully all will end well," said one official in the campaign, who asked not to be named.

BLOODY TRANSITION

The flare-up was the latest in an already messy and often bloody transition to democracy since generals took over from Mubarak after a popular uprising forced him out on February 11, 2011. The army has pledged to hand over power by July 1.

Even before the first-round vote, revolutionaries who led the demonstrations that brought down Mubarak had promised to hit the streets if Shafiq progressed in the vote to become president of the Arab world's most populous nation.

Yet any violence could help Shafiq's cause as his strongest card in the race is his promise swiftly to restore law and order, which collapsed after Mubarak's downfall.

Many Egyptians were happy to see the back of Mubarak, yet are now desperate for stability to revive the shattered economy. Shafiq is seen as having the army backing to achieve that.

Both Shafiq and the Brotherhood are now trying to rally support from more centrist voters in the second round. But youth leaders of the uprising fear they would be surrendering their revolution by voting for Mursi or Shafiq and liberals are also deeply uncomfortable with the available candidates.

Liberal and other political groups have often criticized the Brotherhood for being slow to join the anti-Mubarak revolt, acquiescing too quickly to the ruling generals and seeking to dominate the political scene after their parliamentary success.

Mursi's supporters believe Mursi and the Brotherhood, which has a social network with grass-roots support across Egypt, are the best hope for reforming a corrupt state.

"Protests are expected. Not everyone will be satisfied with the result, some will object to it but we hope that the people's choice will be with the revolution," said Fareed Ismail, a senior figure in the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party.

"The situation in Egypt is in a critical and dangerous phase. We must work together so that the revolution isn't lost," he told Reuters.

The Brotherhood denied any role in the attack on Shafiq's headquarters. Other candidates who lost in the first round also condemned the violence.

Hamdeen Sabahy, a leftist candidate who came third in the race and now being courted by the Brotherhood, said in a statement it was the "right of the people to express their opinion provided demonstrations were peaceful".

A Brotherhood source, who asked not to be named, said the Islamist group had prepared a menu of options to tempt rival groups and politicians to its side, including backers of first-round loser and ex-Brotherhood member Abdol Moneim Abol Fotouh.

Until now, fourth-placed Abol Fotouh has called for his supporters to "stand united against the symbols of corruption and oppression" - a reference to Shafiq - but has not explicitly said he would back Mursi.

Like Sabahy, fifth-placed former Arab League chief Amr Moussa, once a favorite, has not backed either candidate.

The ultra-orthodox Salafi Muslim Al-Nour party, which controls the second biggest bloc in parliament and had backed Abol Fotouh, has thrown its weight behind Mursi.

The Brotherhood source said the group has offered: creating a five-member advisory council to advise the president; assigning the posts of prime minister or vice-president to Abol Fotouh and Sabahy; distributing cabinet posts to other parties; and offering compromises on planned laws and on an assembly tasked with drafting a new constitution.

Four candidates complained about the vote conduct but the election committee dismissed all the complaints.

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said he was broadly confident about the election process although Carter Center monitors highlighted several irregularities, notably lack of access in the final aggregation of national results.

A 'Military Vote' That Doesn't Really Exist

Myth 1: President Obama will win the military vote because Osama bin Laden was killed under his command.

Myth 2: Mitt Romney will win the military vote because he wants to build up the armed forces to be ?so strong no one would ever think to challenge [them].??

Truth: There is no military vote.

Veterans and active-military members vote as voters. When it comes to picking a president, they care about jobs, health insurance, and other kitchen-table issues ? just like everyone else.

Consider that veterans narrowly favored Bill Clinton, who some called a draft dodger, over World War II hero George H.W. Bush in 1992, while Bush?s son won the military vote in 2004 by 16 percentage points against decorated Vietnam veteran John Kerry. Republican John McCain, who survived captivity in Vietnam, won the military vote in 2008, but only by 10 percentage points.

?There?s this idea that veterans have a shared outlook and interests, but voting behavior is usually explained by other factors, like party affiliation, ideology and religion,?? said Benjamin Bishin, an associate professor at the University of California-Riverside, who studied exit poll results from more than 20 elections between 1992 and 2002.

The absence of a cohesive military vote, however, won?t stop the presidential candidates from courting veterans and their families.?On Monday, Romney will commemorate Memorial Day with McCain at the Veterans Museum & Memorial Center in San Diego, while the president will mark the holiday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Military voters made up 15 percent of the electorate in 2008, according to exit polls, and in a close race, even a sliver of advantage with one constituency can make the difference. Veterans could be especially influential in toss-up states like Florida, Virginia and North Carolina.

Obama is airing a television ad in those states and four other battlegrounds that references the killing of bin Laden and says ?we have a sacred trust?? to take care of soldiers when they come home. ?It?s not enough just to make as speech about how much we value veterans. It?s not enough just to remember them on Memorial Day,?? Obama says in the television spot. First Lady Michelle Obama?s pet project is outreach to military families.

?If the economy was more robust, Obama would be doing better among veterans,?? said Democratic strategist Craig Varoga, who advised Kerry and retired Gen. Wesley Clark when he ran in the 2004 Democratic primary. ?It?s a group that will be challenging for him to win, but I think he has a record he should not shy from.??

Romney has sought to appeal to military hawks by criticizing the administration?s foreign policy in Iran, withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, and proposed defense spending cuts. A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll shows Romney leading Obama by 8 percentage points among military voters.

?We have the potential to pick up more votes from veterans on the economy than on national security,?? said Washington lobbyist Charlie Black, a Romney adviser who worked on the McCain campaign. ?They don't necessarily vote as veterans.??

It?s unclear how much traction either candidate will get ? Obama, whose national security record is undercut by high unemployment among veterans, or Romney, whose message of unbridled defense spending clashes with overwhelming support to shrink the military and pull back from foreign conflicts. Americans favor even deeper cuts to defense spending than currently proposed, according to a poll released this month by the Center for Public integrity, the Program for Public Consultation (PPC) and the Stimson Center, wanting a roughly one-quarter cutback of nuclear arms and ground forces.

Military families, meanwhile, are far more focused on their pocketbooks, according to a November 2011 survey by Blue Star Families, a support organization. Skewing heavily toward women (85 percent) aged 25-44 (60 percent), and caring for minor children (64 percent), more than half of the respondents indicated their top concerns were retirement and benefits, or pay and benefits for those current serving.

The military community does not behave as a voting bloc on many issues. Older veterans ? especially senior-ranking commanders ? were much more opposed than younger and active-duty troops to last year?s repeal of ?don?t ask, don?t tell,? the law barring openly gay Americans from military service. Even within the services there was a divide -- combat Marines were less likely to support the repeal than Naval officers, for example.

Republicans have long been viewed as stronger on national security issues, dating back to the Democratic Party?s embrace of the Vietnam War protests. The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on President Bush?s watch in 2001, which launched the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, reinforced the GOP?s advantage.

But in 2012, it?s domestic issues like health-care fees ? more than party alignment or rhetoric about America?s role as a global leader ? that are driving some military members? voting, said retired Air Force Col. Mike Hayden, deputy director of government relations for Military Officers Association of America, an advocacy group of active and retired officers.

While conventional wisdom holds that military members historically break Republican, Hayden argued, ?I don?t know if that?s the case any more.?

Military voters, he claimed, more recently have tended to bend toward whichever party they feel is doing the better job of ?keeping the faith? with the troops ? possibly the year?s most repeated phase by lawmakers and senior defense officials.

Currently, both parties are getting high marks for looking out for military families. The White House has made veteran employment a high-profile mission. Congress, meanwhile, rejected many of the Pentagon?s cost-saving and revenue-generating proposals that lawmakers feared would hurt military families. House and Senate authorization bills passed in the last two weeks omitted the Pentagon?s request to increase fees for Tricare, the military?s health plan. Defense department officials argued the raise was overdue since Tricare had not increased fees since 1995. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, the most popular civilian defense leader of the last decade, tried to sell the idea as a practical way to offset spending cuts. The Pentagon also considered charging enrollment fees and raising deductibles for working veterans.

The plan never made it past the Armed Services committees, reflecting election-year worries about military families in both parties.

Republican Ron Paul, the Texas congressman who is no longer actively campaigning for president, has boasted that his call for the U.S. to withdraw from all military conflicts has garnered significant support. In a Memorial Day message to his supporters, he said, "As you take a moment during this Memorial Day weekend to think about the brave soldiers who for hundreds of years have died to protect your unalienable rights, please pause to ask yourself, 'To what end?'?

Still pontificating onstage at D10, Apple CEO Tim Cook was inevitably queried by Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg about the ongoing Apple TV rumors, though for now he only referred to the company's existing set-top box. He revealed that Apple sold 2.8 million of the hockey pucks last year and has already moved 2.7 million in 2012. As Steve Jobs did repeatedly before him, he mentioned that TV is something "many people would say that this is an area of their life that they aren't pleased with" and explained Apple's key questions: Can we control the key technology? Can we make a significant contribution beyond what others have done in this area? Will this product be one that we want?

Walt pressed for more info and even dug into the Apple TV's limited content offerings, but Cook quickly shut things down (to knowing laughs from the audience) without revealing any plans for a TV set, IPTV service or anything else. Hubble sees a spiral within a spiral

ScienceDaily (May 28, 2012) ? NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured a new image of the spiral galaxy known as ESO 498-G5. One interesting feature of this galaxy is that its spiral arms wind all the way into the center, so that ESO 498-G5's core looks like a bit like a miniature spiral galaxy. This sort of structure is in contrast to the elliptical star-filled centers (or bulges) of many other spiral galaxies, which instead appear as glowing masses.

Astronomers refer to the distinctive spiral-like bulge of galaxies such as ESO 498-G5 as disc-type bulges, or pseudobulges, while bright elliptical centers are called classical bulges. Observations from the Hubble Space Telescope, which does not have to contend with the distorting effects of Earth's atmosphere, have helped to reveal that these two different types of galactic centers exist. These observations have also shown that star formation is still going on in disc-type bulges and has ceased in classical bulges. This means that galaxies can be a bit like Russian matryoshka dolls: classical bulges look much like a miniature version of an elliptical galaxy, embedded in the center of a spiral, while disc-type bulges look like a second, smaller spiral galaxy located at the heart of the first -- a spiral within a spiral.

The similarities between types of galaxy bulge and types of galaxy go beyond their appearance. Just like giant elliptical galaxies, the classical bulges consist of great swarms of stars moving about in random orbits. Conversely, the structure and movement of stars within disc-type bulges mirror the spiral arms arrayed in a galaxy's disc. These differences suggest different origins for the two types of bulges: while classical bulges are thought to develop through major events, such as mergers with other galaxies, disc-type bulges evolve gradually, developing their spiral pattern as stars and gas migrate to the galaxy's center.

ESO 498-G5 is located around 100 million light-years away in the constellation of Pyxis (The Compass). This image is made up of exposures in visible and infrared light taken by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys. The field of view is approximately 3.3 by 1.6 arcminutes.

Burrell?s Myers states his college case at state track meet

SHIPPENSBURG ? When Burrell senior sprinter Darren Myers thinks about how far he?s come in a year, he?s amazed.

Myers went from falling short of the WPIAL track and field championships last year to earning a pair of PIAA medals this season. He went from being a relative unknown in local track circles to a success story.

Myers was sixth place in the Class AA 200 meters in 22.73 seconds and eighth in the 100 (11.41) on Saturday at the state meet at Shippensburg University.

?I?m ecstatic, thinking about not making WPIALs last year to medaling at states,? Myers said. ?That?s a big accomplishment.?

Myers, who won the WPIAL Class AA 200 title last week, hopes his success will attract a college scholarship offer. His ability to compete with elite high school sprinters could boost his chances.

?I?m hoping someone will come along real soon,? he said. ?That?s all I can hope for. Any Division I or II schools are fine. I just want to run in college.?

Several other local boys made it to the medal stand yesterday. In Class AAA, Kiski Area?s 3,200 relay team of senior Richard Lednak, junior Tyler Snider and sophomores Brent Kennedy and Patrick Miller took sixth place and dusted their school record with a time of 7:51.40.

Last week, the Cavaliers repeated as WPIAL champions even though they have two new members this season. Last year, despite winning the WPIAL title, they failed to make the finals at states. The squad earned some redemption.

?The experience from last year helped prepare us,? Lednak said. ?The pressure didn?t get to us. I think we proved ourselves.?

Kennedy (4:19.51) also took eighth in the 1,600.

?I got two state medals,? Kennedy said. ?You can?t ask for more than that. I?ll look to build on that next year.?

In the Class AAA 3,200, Fox Chapel sophomore Ethan Martin ran a personal-best time of 9:24.35 to clinch a seventh-place medal. Martin was seeded 13th.

?It?s awesome,? he said. ?I was seeded pretty low, and I was worried I?d be caught in the back (of the pack). But it split apart a little, and I was able to work my way up.?

In the Class AA discus, Riverview senior Nick Delmonaco scored a sixth-place medal at 153 feet, 9 inches.

?I wasn?t happy,? he said. ?I was definitely off. It just didn?t connect with me.?

On Friday, Delmonaco placed third in the shot put.

?I was better in the discus most of this year, but I ended up doing better in the shot put at states,? he said. ?It?s crazy how it works sometimes.?

Some businesses require very little. For example, many service businesses such as accounting firms build their practices through word-of-mouth referrals. You can also join free or low-cost associations to build awareness of your small business. Again, your business plan (product, customer, competitor) will help you determine the marketing efforts you need to undertake.

Do you ever have an incredibly vivid dream that you just can't shake, that inspires you to write? Last week I had just that. Now, after persistent nagging of the lingering storyline, I'm seeking out a partner. I'm hoping to develop this brief dream into something long term. I'll let you know right off the bat that my activity fluctuates, but I will always let you know when I go away, don't have time or begin to lose interest- I'd expect you to do the same.

China has released a Singaporean banker who had been held without charge since March in a fraud case.

The authorities held Standard Chartered banker Eden Wu after one of her clients fled with millions of dollars.

The client is thought to be a senior banker called Sun Feng, who Chinese officials believe stole about $50m (?30m) before fleeing the country.

Ms Wu's fiance said in a blog that the authorities in the eastern city of Wuxi had cleared her of any wrongdoing.

But he said she would not be allowed to leave China for a year.

"They have determined that she has not done anything wrong and have released her, yet they are preventing her from leaving even after holding her for 79 days," said Jason Tan.

Reports say Ms Wu is also not allowed to speak to journalists, and was freed only after paying $7,000 bail.

Standard Chartered confirmed that she had been freed, but said it could not comment any further.

Reports say Sun Feng, a former executive of the state-owned Agricultural Bank of China, was one of Ms Wu's clients.

Interpol issued a red notice seeking his arrest earlier this year.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught using parables; this helped His audience to understand because parables bring the supernatural into the natural realm.? His technique was to use a situation that His listeners would be familiar with in order to unveil certain supernatural truths (cf. Mt 11:25).? Can we use this method to find a modern day ?visual? (parable) of what exactly does an intimate communion look like?

We are all called, by virtue of our Baptism, to be in an intimate communion with Jesus Christ.?I did not really begin to understand what this entails until I was granted the great privilege of being united as one with the former Susan Kamaski.? I had spent two years in a pre-theologate program in serious discernment for the priesthood.? The time was well spent as I drew closer to the Lord, fellmore in love with His Church, and built a life firmly anchored on the Rock foundation that is Jesus Christ.? I had no doubt that God, our Father, truly loved me as a beloved son, as did the Blessed Mother.? A relationship I had, but I was not sure just what the nature of that relationship was.

A week after our marriage, I began to realize that there was a different quality to our relationship; we had a union that did not exist before we said, ?I do.?? This new intimate communion with Susan was the catalyst for reflection and meditation on the nature of one?s relationship with Jesus Christ.? Two titles of the Church have been the primary fuel of my reflections: the Bride of Christ and the Body of Christ.? In recent years, there has been a widespread discovery of Pope John Paul II?s Theology of the Body,which gave credence to my conviction that the nature of our relationship with Jesus is spousal.?

This book is a tribute to those reflections, guided by the Holy Spirit with frequent contact with Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.? These reflections are augmented by the reality of the emotional and psychological damage that children experience due to an unstable family life that my wife has witnessed as a mental health counselor, our own experience as mentors for engaged couples and our involvement in Engaged Encounter. ?I have brought these reflections into talks and teaching with head bobs of agreement from the participants.?
