Above The Limit to sweep through the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Sprint Trophy

The Grade OR Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Sprint Trophy has only been able to line-up some really moderate performers for the 305 metres flat challenge. The race will be hosted by Nottingham on Monday, 17th December and the prize money set for it is ?150.

Gathering tonight are, Above The Limit, Marfield Luke, Salacres Brad, Joes Inheritance, Liverpool Lass and Droopys Nollaig. Majority of the line-up is not accustomed to race at the level that awaits them tonight.

The only reasonable entry among the lot is the two-year-old black dog, Above The Limit. He has not achieved anything extra ordinary, but was able to qualify as the runner-up in the very recent attempt at the open level.

He has been allotted the first trap and is supported by 10 to 3 odds.

The first time the R. Thompson trained took part in an open race was on 29th June, 2012 in williamhill.com Festival Fyler Trial Stakes at Sunderland over 261 metres.

Taking off in the red of the first trap, he missed racing right away to the wire by 3 ? lengths. The race was won by, Drumna Bell, in 15.93 seconds.

His performance in the open races at Nottingham was not impressive at all, he ended fourth and then was further dragged down to the fifth position in the very next outing.

Hondo Black?s two-year-old son then switched to the Grade A races, and kept failing in the open challenges that kept coming in between.

On 23rd October, he ended fifth in the Sheffield Stadium Maiden Sprint ? Duplicated at Sheffield over 280 metres. The breaking from the fourth trap led to constant crowding from which he could not break in time. The race was won by, Solid Segal, in 16.57 seconds.

His most recent open outing was in the First Choice Security Standard on 30th November, 2012 at Pelaw Grange. He missed the trip to the winner?s enclosure only by a head?s mark while the race was concluded by, Lindisfarne, in 26.12 seconds.

The two-year-old will take off in the red of the first trap tonight, the break is not unfamiliar, but he needs to win this time.
