Northern Bahamas Bodybuilding Championships 2012 ...



After almost a 6 year absence from the Body Building stage, 2006 Novice winner returned to the body building stage competing in his first show, New Providence Body Building Classic, in New Providence June 16th, where he walked away with the Best Physic, Most Muscular, and Lightweight title and eventually the overall Open Men?s title.

On Saturday July 21st, competing in his first Nationals, with the competition being held in Freeport Grand Bahama for the first time in 39 years of its existence, Jimmy Norius struck Gold again, and duplicated his wins from his first outing a month earlier in the year.

Jimmy Norius Is Mr. Bahamas 2012

Mr. Norius born May 15th 1975, a personal trainer with Club One, in Nassau, captured the eyes of the judging panel, from the moment he walked onto the stage competing in the Men?s Physic division, a new division being contested in the Nationals for the first time. He later returned to the stage to compete in the men?s lightweight division where he walked away with the win.

At the end of the night when all of the divisional winners lined up for the pose down to determined who would be crowned the title of Mr. Bahamas 2012 by Robert Harris defending champion from 2011, and now President of Grand Bahama Body Building and Fitness Association, the obvious winner was Jimmy Norius, who walked away with the most muscular, best physic, and overall men?s title.

Andrew Sweeting, step up his game and took the only other male award capturing the best routine award, which is now name in honor of Henry Charlton, who is considered one of the better male posers in the Bahamas. He hails from Grand Bahama.

A National team will be selected to represent the Bahamas at the 2012 CAC Championships which will be held in Puerto Rico in September. Team Bahamas is still looking for sponsorship to assist with travel expensive and athlete preparation for the games.
